Who we are
This site, sarahjhutt.com, is run by Sarah Hutt, a sole trader based in Cumbria, England. If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, you can reach me at sarah@sarahjhutt.com.
What this site collects, and why
I only collect personal data where you choose to give it to me, through one of the following:
- The “Where is your practice leaking?” quiz (/leak-check/): the quiz itself doesn’t need any personal information, and your result is shown to you straight away. If you choose to get the full written report, you add your email address, which is handled through Kit, my email service provider, and added to my mailing list so I can send you the report and occasional related emails.
- The contact form (/contact/): your name, email address and message are sent to me by email (sarah@sarahjhutt.com) so I can reply.
- The Focus Session application: if you apply for a Focus Session, you fill in a Google Form with your name, email address and some background on your situation, so I can prepare for our conversation.
I don’t collect any personal data automatically just from you browsing the site — see Analytics and cookies below.
Analytics and cookies
This site uses Koko Analytics to get a general sense of how many people visit and which pages they read. Koko Analytics doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t track you individually — it counts visits using a daily, automatically-rotating anonymised code built from your IP address and browser type, which is discarded every night. This data isn’t shared with anyone else.
This site doesn’t use Google Analytics or set any non-essential cookies. If that changes in future, this policy — and, if needed, a cookie consent banner — will be updated first.
Kit, which powers the quiz’s email opt-in and the mailing list more generally, may store small pieces of information in your browser (not a traditional cookie) when you interact with one of its forms, so it can remember things like whether you’ve already subscribed.
Who I share your data with
I use a small number of other services to run this site and my business, and your data may pass through them:
- Kit (kit.com) — my email marketing platform, used for the mailing list and the quiz’s full report. Kit is based in the US; data transfers are covered by its Data Privacy Framework certification and standard contractual clauses.
- Google — for the Focus Session application form, and for my own email.
- My web host — for storing the site and any data submitted through it.
I don’t sell your data, and I don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.
How long I keep your data
As a general rule: quiz and mailing list sign-ups stay on the list until you unsubscribe; contact form messages and Focus Session applications are kept for as long as is useful to our conversation, and deleted or anonymised after that if we don’t end up working together; records of any paid work are kept for as long as UK accounting rules require.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask what personal data I hold about you, to have it corrected if it’s wrong, to have it deleted, and to object to how it’s used. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email I send. To do any of this, email sarah@sarahjhutt.com.
If you’re unhappy with how your data has been handled, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), the UK’s data protection regulator.
Changes to this policy
I’ll update this page if what the site collects or how it’s used changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
